There haven’t been many good drug-related songs for a while but this new track, “No Calories In Cocaine”, from the Howl And The Hum makes up for that. It rolls along like a white powder-fueled bastard and has some great lines (no pun intended), I love the weird simplicity of “No gluten inside MDMA“. Musically it feels like a lost Waterboys track or something from Mumford and Sons if they were good. Sam Griffiths and his gang are on top form and on this evidence the new album, due out in September, will be bloody good! Yes, on the strength of this track and previous single “Same Mistake Twice” the future looks bright for the Howl And The Hum 2.0.
